ST Launches ST AIoT Craft: Web Tool for AIoT Development

Postare su novembre 19, 2024

STMicroelectronics has launched ST AIoT Craft, a web-based tool designed to simplify the development of AIoT (Artificial Intelligence of Things) projects and related network configurations. The tool focuses on leveraging the Machine Learning Core (MLC) of ST’s intelligent MEMS sensors, enabling efficient node-to-cloud solutions.

The MLC, a unique feature in ST's MEMS portfolio, allows sensors to run decision tree learning models directly within the sensor. This enables the MLC to function autonomously, without host system involvement, delivering low-latency, low-power, and efficient AI-based capabilities for tasks such as classification and pattern detection.

ST AIoT Craft integrates all the necessary steps to develop IoT projects utilizing MLC-enabled AI. It offers developers a secure and user-friendly environment with robust cloud data protection. Operating directly in a web browser, the tool eliminates the need for software installation, saving time and enhancing collaboration among teams, such as AI experts and embedded software engineers.

A key feature of the platform is AutoML, which automates decision tree model creation. AutoML optimizes sensor datasets by automatically selecting the best attributes, filters, and window sizes, while also training decision trees for MLC deployment. Beginners can quickly familiarize themselves with ST’s intelligent sensors, streamlining AI application development. For IoT projects requiring network configuration, the DSM (Data Sufficiency Module) tool enables smart gateway setups by filtering transmitted data points, minimizing communication load, reducing power consumption, and simplifying future retraining efforts.

To facilitate learning and implementation, users can access code examples for use cases like fan coil monitoring, asset tracking, human activity recognition, and head posture detection. These examples are deployable on ST's IoT reference boards, such as SensorTile.box Pro, STWIN, and STWIN.box, allowing developers to test, customize, or import their datasets to accelerate project development.

ST AIoT Craft is part of the ST Edge AI Suite, which includes all necessary software tools, examples, and models for developing machine learning algorithms on ST’s edge AI products. These products feature STM32 microcontrollers (MCUs), Stellar MCUs, and MEMS sensors with integrated MLC or Intelligent Sensor Processing Units (ISPUs).
