    POS(point of sale terminal) has inadequate protection against physical attacks. An attacker can access sensitive data, such as credit card numbers and PINS, using probes or tiny drill bits. Such attacks can be reliably prevented by adding a security element to the terminal's security upper limit.

     Harting 3D-MID helmet enhances safety level. The electrical paths (tracks) inside the protective cap provide a very reliable additional security mechanism to shield against physical attacks. The traces form a closed circuit. They are so close together that it is almost impossible for an attacker to gain access. Any attempt to attack either damages one trace and interrupts the circuit or shorts both traces. This causes the POS terminal to shut down immediately, causing the loss of cached data and making the device unusable.
